टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली टेस्ट रैंकिंग में दुनिया के नंबर-1 बल्लेबाज बन गए हैं. कोहली अपने करियर में पहली
बार टेस्ट रैंकिंग में पहले स्थान पर पहुंचे हैं. इस क्रम में उन्होंने
ऑस्ट्रेलिया क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ को पछाड़ा है, जो बॉल टेम्परिंग के कारण प्रतिबंध का सामना कर
रहे हैं. एजबैस्टन में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ खेले गए पहले टेस्ट मैच में कोहली ने शतक
लगाने के साथ 200 रन भी बनाए. इसी कारण उन्होंने नम्बर-1 टेस्ट बल्लेबाज की उपलब्धि हासिल की है.

ने कहा कि 29 वर्षीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी कोहली भारत के
सातवें ऐसे बल्लेबाज बन गए हैं,
जिन्होंने
टेस्ट रैंकिंग में पहला स्थान हासिल किया है. एजबेस्टन टेस्ट की समाप्ति के बाद
रविवार सुबह ताजा रैंकिंग जारी हुई. कोहली वनडे बल्लेबाजों की रैंकिंग में भी पहले
स्थान पर हैं. ऐसे में अब वह टेस्ट में नंबर-1
रहने वाले अन्य भारतीय खिलाड़ियों की सूची में शामिल हो गए हैं. इसमें सुनील
गावस्कर, दिलीप वेंगसरकर, सचिन तेंदुलकर, राहुल
द्रविड़, वीरेंद्र सहवाग और गौतम गंभीर का नाम
शामिल हैं.
टेस्ट
बल्लेबाजों की रैंकिंग में 934 अंक हासिल कर कोहली भारत के उच्च
स्तरीय बल्लेबाज बन गए हैं. एजबैस्टन टेस्ट में कोहली 903 अंकों के साथ खेले थे, लेकिन अब उन्होंने 13 अंकों से गावस्कर को पछाड़ा है. टी-20 बल्लेबाजों की रैंकिंग में कोहली 12वें स्थान पर है. इस रैंकिंग में आस्ट्रेलिया
के एरॉन फिंच पहले स्थान पर हैं. इंग्लैंड के खिलाड़ी बेन स्टोक्स ने भारत के
खिलाफ पहले टेस्ट मैच में छह विकेट हासिल किए थे. ऐसे में उन्होंने टेस्ट
गेंदबाजों की रैंकिंग में चार स्थान ऊपर उठते हुए 27वां
स्थान हासिल किया है. इंग्लैंड को 1000वें टेस्ट मैच में जीत दिलाने में अहम
भूमिका निभाने वाले सैम कुरान ने भी लंबी छलांग लगाते हुए शीर्ष-100 खिलाड़ियों में अपनी जगह बनाई है. सैम पहले 152वें स्थान पर थे और अब वह ऊपर उठते हुए 72वें स्थान पर पहुंच गए हैं.
